Songs in the Key of Me Vol. 2
  1. Beatin' The Odds (Orig Sept 1980 / My Cover April 2024): My cover of a song by Molly Hatchet. I asked the Karaoke DJ if he had this song in April 2024. He said no. So I made my own and turned it in to a Karaoke version so I could perform it in May.
  2. At My Side (September 16th, 1978): A collaberation with my sister Connie. Her lyrics and my music.
  3. A Country Song (Circa 1979): Just me poking a little fun at country music.
  4. God Bless The U.S.A. (Feat. Tommy Mac) (Cover): This is the first of four songs I recorded at the request of Andy E. He is an Army vet that walks at the same place I do during my lunch hour. It was quite the production to sing a duet with Tommy Mac.
  5. Deadlocked In Love (Feat. Ken Compton) - (May 2024): I couldn't let this vocal performance go unused. I remade the whole song in this higher key and extended the guitars solo.
  6. Once Upon A Time (August / October 2021): This song is the combination of two separate poems I wrote. Each poem contains 6 stanzas. I just kept getting a melody in my head for the first stanza of the first poem. So, I finally decided to put the two poems together. The song is in 6/4 time, and each verse is 8 measures long with 2 measures between verses. I also tossed in a beginning, an 8-measure interlude between the two poems, and an ending, thus creating a 7 minute long epic tale with a Hallmark ending.
  7. Here By The Phone (Cover): My sister Katie asked if I could transfer 78 rpm records to CDs for a friend of hers. This song is one of those songs. I liked this one and decided to record it myself. I made two changes to the original. I wrote a third verse and put a break in the middle.
  8. Yellow Bird (Cover): This is the second song requested by Andy. I opted to base my version on the version done by the Mills Brothers.
  9. Space Aged Travelling (Circa 1979): A quirky little song about a space journey gone awry. I just had to play with the synthesizer Woody bought! The guitar chords were played from the end of the song to the beginning, then the recording was flipped so it was a reversed recording in the proper order.
  10. I'm Carrying (August 1978) (Cover): My cover of a song by Sir Paul McCartney
  11. Just A Bunch of Fools (In A Band): I guess you would call this a parody of Just A Couple of Fools (In Love). Exact same music etc. but the lyrics are a “History of the band.”
  12. Spanish Eyes (Cover): This is Andy’s third request. This song needed female background singers. So I lowered the song and recorded them in my range, then worked some audio magic to create the female voices.
  13. Seven Bridges Road (V: May 2001 / G: Dec 2024) (Cover): My cover of a song by the band Eagles. The vocals are from a recording I made in 2001. I also had “sung” the backing music. The vocals were pretty good, but the “instrumental vocals” left a lot to be desired. So This version now has the two backing guitars replacing the former backing “instrument” voices.
  14. I Feel Fine Today (The Happiest Times): This song started as two separate songs I wrote a month or two apart back in the late 70’s. When I listened to them recently, I realized the music and the two stories were very similar. So, I put them together and made a better song.
  15. The Sound of Silence: I have recorded this song on more than one occasion. And I have always felt the song needed more than the two voices the original has. This is the best version I have ever recorded.
  16. American Soldier: This is the forth request by Andy. When I listened to this in mid October, I was surprised that I had never heard it before. I was also impressed at how much was going on in the music. I am very proud of how this song turned out. There are a couple videos that were made during the making of this song!
  17. Andrew Evva (Just Andy): Andy has no idea this song even exists. I just thought it would be a fun surprise for him. When we first introduced ourselves, he told me his name was Andy. I then asked “Are you an ‘Andrew’ or an actual ‘Andy’” His reply was “Just Andy”. Though I did find out he is an official Andrew. So I decided to create an acrostic poem. The first letter of each line spells out… Andrew Evva Just Call Me Andy Evva I hope you like it Andy!! This is also the first song I have done that uses AI voices. The words “All?” and “No!!” were spoken by nine coworkers and family members. Each of those were processed into 2 unique AI voices so I could have a crowd of 27 people responding within the song.
